Marcos Guareño President along with Elariel Padilla Vice President, fashion entrepreneurs of the new millennium. Born and raised in NY, I learned that fashion is an ever-changing industry whose ideas are breath-taking 1 minute, but are easily forgotten in the next. We have embarked on a mission to change just that. With my skills as a graphics designer, we are determined to provide the fashion industry with the style that they've been missing. Magu Clothing offers a vision of what class & quality should be. Starting as just a custom t-shirt designer, I launched my idea of a clothing company after realizing that my work offered a fresh variety of flawless designs, incomparable to any other.

What/Who is Magu T-shirt line?
Magu clothing is more than just a clothing line it is a movement of free minded individuals seeking to stand out and break free from the norm.

When did you start your line?
I started the line Spring of 2007 after realizing that I could make a change in the fashion industry. In Spring of 2008 Elariel came aboard. It is our passion to be able to create something in which others would be delighted to wear. We are amazed when we walk the streets and see people wearing what we created; it is something that leaves us speechless.

What is the inspiration behind Magu?
The inspiration came from a childhood long love for fashion and design. I grew up on the latest trends and always imagined designing my own trend. In late 2006, I was freelancing for two clothing companies in which I learned a lot from and that is what helped finalize my decision to take my custom t-shirts into Magu Clothing. It was hard to try and get the proper support; nothing comes easy when you are constantly surrounded by negativity but that didn’t stop me from giving the world a taste of what I had to offer. With the first collection, which showcased the “signature tee” and the “Magu hoodie,” I sold over 400 pieces, starting out from my house and then continuing to sell my merchandise in stores, which sold out faster than I expected. I knew the clothing would do well because I have always maintained faith and I know what people want, which is something different, eye catching, and most of all unique.

Where does the line name originate?
The line name originated from the first two letters of my first and last name. After weeks of trying to come up with a name for the clothing line, I stumbled upon Magu with a friend of mine while walking down the streets of Manhattan. We were tossing around names and none seemed to fit. I was juggling my initials around and landed on Magu and ever since that moment, the name it caught on.


Is it a male or female line?
We have previously fulfilled custom shirt orders for females, but at the moment it is a male line. We are anticipating the launching of our female line, which will be coming soon.

Does it comes in all sizes or do you only focus on one?
The line comes in small – 2xl

Are you only focusing on T-shirt?
For now starting out as a t-shirt line and in the near future will expand to other products.

What should the readers expect from your new collection?
Readers should expect to see much edgier clothing than the first collection. This collection will be more versatile, funky, have an array of colors and designs and most importantly, it will be a unique stand out collection. With the second collection, we have had some time to give our designs more thought and we are much better prepared to showcase a larger collection. We understand today’s fashion is a changing industry. People want to see something new and innovative, something that is unlike the rest. In order to survive you have to be able to adapt and move with the times. I have had great opportunities and great feedback in which we are extremely grateful for.
